Who we are

Hi, I’m Melissa, founder of Avalon Financial.

I started my career in public accounting, focusing on tax work. Early on, I saw how confusing and overwhelming finances can feel for business owners; even the ones who are incredibly capable and successful at what they do.

From there, I moved into the private sector and spent 15 years in the alcoholic beverage distribution industry, the last 8 as CFO and General Manager. During that time, I learned something important:

Most businesses don’t struggle because they lack talent or vision. They struggle because they don’t have the time, or the support, to manage the financial side on their own.

I’ve spent years solving those challenges inside a real business. I reduced manual hours, strengthened controls, improved visibility, and helped leadership make better decisions with better information. That experience is what allows me to step in confidently and create clarity, structure, and peace of mind for my clients.
